Veterinary clinics

Veterinary clinic accounting software: estimates, deposits and pharmacy stock

Give owners an estimate before surgery, take a deposit, and turn the estimate into the invoice. Medications, prescription diets and supplies are tracked as inventory, and each invoice takes them out at cost.

For independent small-animal, mixed and mobile veterinary practices in the US and Canada, $399.99 once.

No card, no account. Windows 10 and 11. United States and Canada.

What it means

In practice

Estimates to invoices

A treatment estimate becomes the invoice in one step, and you can bill part of it at a time when treatment is staged.

Deposits before procedures

A deposit taken at drop-off is held as a customer deposit and applied to the final invoice, so it never shows as income for a procedure not yet done.

Pharmacy and food on the shelf

Medications, diets and supplies are inventory at average cost, with reorder points and purchase orders to your distributors. Inventory Valuation shows what the shelf is worth.

An invoice in AcboBooks

Services and medications on one invoice.

One owner, three pets, one clear account

Each pet can be a job under its owner, so the owner's account shows every animal's visits and the statement shows one balance.

Your practice software keeps the medical records and reminders. AcboBooks keeps the money: client accounts, pharmacy stock, payroll for vets, techs and staff, and the bank reconciliation.

What it does not do

· No medical records, appointment booking, vaccine reminders or lab integration.

· No controlled-drug log.

· Windows 10 and 11 for now (a Mac version is coming soon); no phone app.

· It imports your bank's statement file rather than connecting live to the bank.

Questions people ask

Before you download

Can I see every visit for one pet?

Yes, if each pet is a job under the owner. The pet's job lists its invoices, and the owner's statement totals all of them.

Does inventory come out when I invoice?

Yes. An inventory item on an invoice reduces stock and posts its average cost to cost of goods sold.

How do I pay a relief vet?

As a vendor, by bill. Their payments are tracked for the 1099-NEC (US) or T4A (Canada) at year-end.
