What it means
In practice
Booth rent billed on schedule
Each renter is a customer with a weekly or monthly rent invoice that AcboBooks enters automatically. The ageing report shows who is behind.
Commission and tips on payroll
Employee stylists get commission and tips on the paycheck, where tips are treated as wages for tax. Set stylists up as sales reps to see service sales by stylist.
Retail stock that adds up
Shampoo, styling products and tools are inventory at average cost. Product used at the back bar can be adjusted out of stock to an expense account.

Commission and tips on the paycheck.
Your booking app takes the payments. AcboBooks keeps the books.
Enter the day's or week's totals from your booking or POS system as a sales receipt, split into services, retail and tax, then match the processor's payout, fees and all, to the bank.
At month-end the P&L shows service income, retail margin and booth rent side by side.

What it does not do
· Not a booking or point-of-sale system: no appointments, card terminal or client service history.
· No gift card or gift certificate tracking.
· Windows 10 and 11 for now (a Mac version is coming soon); no phone app.
· It imports your bank's statement file rather than connecting live to the bank.
Questions people ask
Before you download
How do I set up booth renters and employees?
Renters are customers who pay you rent on a recurring invoice. Employees are on payroll with commission and tips on the paycheck. Which your stylists are depends on how they work; your accountant can confirm.
Does it connect to my booking app?
No. Enter the totals from its daily or weekly report as a sales receipt, which takes a few minutes.
Can I track product used on clients?
Yes. Adjust the back-bar quantity out of inventory to a supplies expense account, and stock value stays right.
