What it means
In practice
Time that becomes invoices
Log billable and non-billable hours by employee, client and service. The hours are tracked without touching the books until you bill them on an invoice.
Retainers and prepaid work
Take a retainer as a customer deposit and apply it to invoices. Prepaid annual fees can be deferred and recognised month by month.
Trust accounting for lawyers
Client funds sit in a trust bank account and are owed back per client. You cannot disburse more than a client holds, and the three-way check confirms client balances equal the trust bank balance.

Time and expenses billed on one invoice.
Your time is the product. Track it like inventory.
Every hour is logged against a client and a service, so you see who you are under-billing and which work pays.
Client data stays on your own computer, encrypted with your password: a point clients and bar associations increasingly ask about.

What it does not do
· Time tracking is entered on the PC; there is no mobile timer.
· Not a practice-management system: no matters calendar or document management.
· Windows 10 and 11 for now (a Mac version is coming soon); no phone app.
· It imports your bank's statement file rather than connecting live to the bank.
Questions people ask
Before you download
Does the trust accounting meet IOLTA rules?
It enforces the essentials: a separate trust account, per-client balances, no disbursing more than a client holds, and a three-way check. Your bar's specific record-keeping rules still apply; confirm them with your bar or accountant.
Can I bill hours on an invoice?
Yes. Hours are logged against a client and service and billed onto the client's invoice.
How do retainers work?
Record the retainer as a customer deposit, a liability, and apply it to invoices as the work is billed.
Is client data private?
The company file is encrypted with your password and stays on your computer. Your books are never sent to us; the app only checks its licence with us.
