Bars, pubs and taprooms
Accounting software for bars and taprooms: nightly sales, tips and stock
Post each night's Z-report: drink and food sales, sales tax and tips, against the cash and card collected. Tips are held as a liability until paid out, and kegs, bottles and cans can be tracked as inventory at average cost.
For independent bars, pubs, wine bars and brewery taprooms in the US and Canada, $399.99 once.
No card, no account. Windows 10 and 11. United States and Canada.

What it means
In practice
The night in one entry
Enter the Z-report totals and how they were paid. Sales, the tax you owe and the tips you owe staff post together, and the cash and card must add up first.
Stock behind the bar
Track kegs, bottles and cans as inventory items. A count with the physical inventory worksheet and one adjustment shows what was poured, given away or lost.
Tips and staff
Card tips accrue to Tips Payable and clear when paid out in cash or on the paycheck, where they are treated as wages for tax.

Drink cost against drink sales.
What did the bar actually pour this month?
Deliveries are received at cost. At month-end, count the cooler, enter the counts, and the adjustment shows the gap between what was bought and what was sold.
The P&L shows drink cost against drink sales, so you can see your pour cost each month.

What it does not do
· Not a point-of-sale system; enter the totals from your POS.
· No excise or alcohol tax returns, and no brewing or production records.
· Windows 10 and 11 for now (a Mac version is coming soon); no phone app.
· It imports your bank's statement file rather than connecting live to the bank.
Questions people ask
Before you download
Can it track liquor and beer inventory?
Yes, as inventory items at average cost, received from distributors and adjusted after each count. It tracks whole units such as kegs and bottles, not pours.
Does it handle alcohol excise tax?
No. It tracks sales tax and GST/HST. Excise and production reporting for brewers stays with your accountant or a brewery system.
How are tips handled?
Tips go to Tips Payable, a liability. Paying them out in cash or through payroll clears it.
