What it means

In practice

Counter and wholesale in one book

The day's counter sales go in as one daily entry or sales receipt. Wholesale customers get invoices on terms, and the A/R aging shows who still owes for last week's bread.

Standing orders bill themselves

Memorise a customer's regular order as an invoice and set it to repeat weekly or monthly. It is created on schedule, ready to adjust if the order changed.

Ingredient cost against sales

Flour, butter, coffee and packaging bills go to their own cost accounts. The P&L by month shows your cost of ingredients next to your sales.

An invoice in AcboBooks

Wholesale invoices on terms, repeating weekly.

The bread is out by six. The books can be done by seven.

Close the till, enter the totals and the tips, and the day is in the books. Card settlements land in the bank and match when you import the statement.

Every week, the standing invoices go to your wholesale accounts and the payments are applied as they come in.

· It imports your bank's statement file rather than connecting live to the bank.
