QuickBooks Desktop price increases in 2026: what Pro Plus, Premier Plus and Enterprise renewals cost now

Why the numbers are hard to find

These are subscription renewal prices for QuickBooks Desktop 2024, the current version. There is no Desktop 2025 or 2026 edition; Intuit keeps version 2024 up to date instead (see Desktop 2024 has no sunset date). What changed in 2026 is the price, not the software.

Pro Plus and Premier Plus have not been sold to new US customers since September 30, 2024, so Intuit no longer lists their prices on its website. Existing subscribers learn the new price from a notice before renewal. Enterprise is still sold, but Intuit's Enterprise page asks you to "get custom pricing" or call sales.

The figures below therefore come from accounting firms and Intuit resellers who received Intuit's notices. We name the source for each. Your own renewal notice is the only number that binds you.

February 2026

Increases took effect on February 1, 2026, or at the first renewal after that date. CPA firm Brady Martz reported these prices in December 2025, and other providers reported the same Pro Plus and Premier Plus figures:

Product (per year)BeforeFrom Feb 1, 2026
Pro Plus, 1 user$999$1,149
Pro Plus, each extra user$200$230
Premier Plus, 1 user$1,399$1,609
Premier Plus, each extra user$300$345
Enterprise Silver, 1 user$1,703$1,873
Enterprise White Gold, 1 user$2,243$2,467
Desktop Basic Payroll$550$640
Desktop Enhanced Payroll$700$805
Payroll, per employee per month$7$7

Brady Martz also reported payroll direct deposit (ACH) fees rising from $3 to $5 per transaction on basic plans and from $5 to $10 on advanced plans.

October 2026

In July 2026, Intuit notified customers of a second increase, as reported by the trade publication Insightful Accountant on July 14, 2026. It applies from October 1, 2026, or the first annual renewal after that, to QuickBooks Desktop Plus (Pro, Premier and Mac), Desktop Accountant including ProAdvisor bundles, and Basic and Enhanced Payroll. Legacy Enhanced Unlimited and Enhanced Limited Payroll follow from December 1, 2026.

Insightful Accountant published the new prices only as images. Reseller and consultant sites report these figures; we could not check them against an Intuit price list:

Product (per year)From Feb 1, 2026Reported from Oct 1, 2026
Pro Plus, 1 user$1,149$1,351
Pro Plus, each extra user$230$270
Premier Plus, 1 user$1,609$1,891
Premier Plus, each extra user$345$406
Desktop Basic Payroll$640$690
Desktop Enhanced Payroll$805$870

If those figures are right, a single-user Pro Plus subscription that cost $999 at the end of 2025 costs $1,351 from October 2026: about 35% more in one calendar year. Premier Plus moves the same way, from $1,399 to $1,891.

Add Enhanced Payroll for five employees and the reported October figures give $870 + (5 × $7 × 12) = $1,290 a year for payroll, on top of the software.

Enterprise

Enterprise is the one Desktop edition still sold to new US customers. Intuit's Enterprise page shows Gold, Platinum and Diamond and asks you to contact sales for a price. It also shows what each tier adds per employee:

  • Gold and Platinum include Desktop Enhanced Payroll, plus up to $3 per employee per month.
  • Diamond includes Desktop Assisted Payroll, plus $2.50 per employee per pay period, and is billed monthly.

Hosting provider Verito reported, in June 2026, Gold at about $2,210 and Platinum at about $2,717 per user per year before payroll fees. Treat those as a starting point for the conversation with Intuit, not a quote.

What to do at renewal

  1. Read the renewal notice and note the date. The new price applies at your renewal, not on a fixed day for everyone.
  2. Price your actual setup: users, payroll, employees and direct deposit fees. The software line is often less than half the total.
  3. Compare five years, not one. Two increases in 2026 is a pattern worth planning for. Our five-year cost comparison does the arithmetic for Online and Desktop.
  4. If you will leave, leave before you renew. Export your data while the subscription is active, and move at a clean break. See how to convert your file.

AcboBooks costs $399.99 once, with payroll included and 12 months of updates; after that it keeps working, and renewing updates is optional, though payroll users need it for each year's new tax tables. It does not match every Enterprise feature; the QuickBooks Desktop comparison sets out the differences honestly.
